Australian speculative architect Liam Young portrays the new age of technology in its reality with “I Spy with My Machine Eye” which comprises collages of drone images he’s collected in remote areas for a long time. Working in the space between design, fiction and futures, Young is also the co-founder of Tomorrow’s Thoughts, an urban think tank, and Unknown Fields, a nomadic research studio that travels to record the emerging conditions of the world. Interested in the proper and disquieting uses of drone technology, Young underlines the new problems that might be brought along by technology and how we should prepare for them.

Previously welcomed at Digilogue Summit 2017 and at Sonar Festival last month as Digilogue’s guest, Liam Young manages his time between exploring distant landscapes and prototyping the worlds he creates with them.
